A guide to the Gifts you were given at Birth!

Astrology has had a profound effect on today's spirituality, religions, philosophy, and the sciences of antiquity. The Magi of Persia were called the Star Gazers. Egyptians were famed for being able to foretell the destiny of nations and individuals by calculating the heavenly bodies. You can find ruins of primitive astronomical observatories all over the world. Made from blocks of granite or pounded sheets of copper and brass.

In India, an observatory with immense stone sundial is still in use today. There is even a rudimentary observatory in China on the wall of Peking that is made from various bronze instruments which includes a hollow tube with no lens.

The Stars and Planets were seen as living entities that could influence the destinies of those below on Earth. Shaping individuals, nations, and races according to their will. If you open your mind to the more allegorical side of the Bible, you can even find mention of Astrology in there. How do you think the Three Wise Men (Magi) found baby Jesus?

Most Ancient cultures including the Chaldeans, Phoenicians, Egyptians, Persians, Hindu, and Chinese all have Zodiacs that are remarkably similar. These cultures are where modern Astrology and Astronomy began.

The word Zodiac is derived from the Greek zwdiakov (zodiakos), which means "a circle of animals," or, as some believe, "little animals." It is the name given by the old pagan astronomers to a band of fixed stars about sixteen degrees wide, apparently encircling the earth.

The Greeks, and later other civilizations influenced by their culture, divided the zodiac into twelve sections, each being sixteen degrees in width and thirty degrees in length. As the Sun passed through the year imaginary creatures were found in the sky and turned into groups called Constellations, or Signs of the Zodiac.

The division between the Zodiac was called the Houses of the Zodiac. The Houses are the place 'where' the Sign of the Zodiac and any Planets inside their realm come to life. Whether in your daily life or your Natal Birth Chart, then these placements are important to the potential energies you were given at birth. They can also influence your daily life as they move through the sky affecting your decisions unconsciously. If you watched the stars as our ancestors did then you would be able to predict changing circumstances, gifts being given or warnings. The ancients took the movement of the Planets through the sky very seriously and planned the course of their life accordingly.

Our ancestors recognized that certain planets provoked varying feelings down from above. They gave each Planet an archetype and associated it with a God or Goddess to portray the energies that emanated into their daily lives. Believing that the placement in a certain House or Sign could influence their finances or family. Therefore, the creatures assigned to the twelve houses are symbolic of the qualities and intensity of the Sun's power while it occupies different parts of the Zodiacal belt.
